So I've been trying to do packing and shopping. I have a small fortune in travellers checks and yen up on my desk, a million new clothes and stuff for my school uniform. I'm going to be able to take French in Japan!! I was really scared I'd lose all of my French, but I get to take French from a native speaker! I don't even have that here and any foreing language other than english is super rare in Japan. So I was at an AFS banquet thingee last night and I'm going to another dance thingee tonight. Yeah...I'm not even sure what all to say, so much has happened since I last blogged. Well I have two days of school left. heh heh heh..... And in Japanese class yesterday I got to read a childrens book about Tare Panda which means Floppy Panda. It's sooooooooooo cute ^_^_^_^_^_^_^_^ I want! I want! ooh! I can give you a site about him.....I'll have to find a good one first. Oh and for whoever cares I found my school website. That place rocks. It was a tough week-end, but God came through and really taught me I need to trust in him and remember the big picture instead of my own heartbreak. I could never have made it through without him. I remember my "life verse" which is not really a verse, but it should be. It's from "a Page is Turned" by Bebo Norman. It says "The God of second-chance will pick you up and will let you dance to a world that is not kind." And it just reminds me that when life sucks, God will allways be there no matter what I've done this time and he'll let me have joy through him even though I hurt.<div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/3312404-9830403?l=hinorei.blogspot.com' alt='' /></div>

Well Hana came over on Sunday and helped me put on my kimono. That was interesting because I've never had seafood before much less VERY foreign seafood, very foreign RAW seafood... And it's not as if you can try just a little bit of anything. You either cram it all in your mouth and nearly choke, or don't eat it. And as I'm sure all of you know I do not have a small mouth but I had to spit something back onto my plate at one point and try to naw it in half because it was WAY too big. So I had one kind of sushi with avocado, raw salmon (I think), raw fish eggs, and cucumber all wrapped up in rice and seaweed. Then I had raw spicy tuna wrapped in the rice and seaweed, raw yellowtail on rice (this is the one I had to spit out or choke ^_^o), raw ginger slices, soybean broth and tofu soup, and then a whole tone of raw fish eggs wrapped in seaweed. All of these were dipped in soy sauce and this weird green horseradish stuff. It was all exeptionally foreign to me, so basically what I "liked" was the stuff that was somewhat familiar. Like the soup, the yellowtail and the spicy tune (it tasted a bit like mexican food). And the other stuff will take a whole lot of getting used to before I'll be able to figure out if I like or not. But it was a very good experience to have in the states so I don't freak out and throw up on my host family. ^_^o<div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/3312404-9553503?l=hinorei.blogspot.com' alt='' /></div>

Watashi wa genki desu! genki genki genki... ^_^ I got my travel packet today in the mail. Oh and since people keep asking my last day at school is the 15 of March and I leave for L.A. on the 18 really really early. So I'm going out for sushi tonight. ^_^ I really hope I can tolerate Japanese food....I kinda like bland stuff and have never had seafood... probably not a good thing, but I geuss I'll deal. Oh yeah and I got a Kimono on ..... Wednesday. I have no clue how to put it on but it's fun to look at and pretend I'm wearing it.... *sigh* pathetic I know. That's about it on the japanese front (except the pretty origami heart I made in Japanese class). I went to a math meet yesterday. That was awesome. I love dorks. ^_^ (no offense to any dorks reading this, I'm one too) But the busride was ... how you say...interesting...
